“Effective”: “Robbery on EPS scale continues”, after the holidays – protest | (News

Yesterday on its Facebook page, the Consumers’ Association Effectila published another example of an “inflated” electricity bill, which shows that, after the meter was replaced, the consumption tripled, and the bill was abnormally high.

– During the whole year, the consumption did not exceed 250 kwh. In December, the meter is replaced, it is set digitally and the consumption for January goes to over 700kwh. Then, for February comes 0 consumption, and for March a record of 726kwh – writes this Association and adds that people call them, “elderly fellow citizens are literally crying”:

– They are desperate they don’t know what to do anymore because EPS rejects their complaintsa they have no money to pay inflated bills. They do not accept any complaints, they just say it has to be paid. This is incredible. Is this happening anywhere else on earth?

In the comments, we can see that this is not the only example and that other citizens have also been harmed in this way.

– All identical. Robbery on a huge scale!!! I, unfortunately, accepted the robbery. All complaints were rejected, the meter is supposedly ok, from October to today no one came to read the electricity. I paid my bills regularly and for January I received 0 dinars. After that, I received a consolidated bill, supposedly from November, as if I hadn’t paid anything. I was also denied a claim even though it is clear to a layman how illegal it is. Not to talk about 5,000 dinars that arrived to me again where I hardly ever use electricity at all –one of our fellow citizens wrote and added:

– But since I don’t know what else to do except to wait for the executors, this month I already gave them 100e and I plan another ten thousand tomorrow.

We remind you of numerous complaints from citizens about high electricity bills, especially after the hacker attack on EPS, Minister Đedović-Handanović stated in February that half unfounded and that citizens will not be harmed:

Problematic meter replacement

In the next post on Facebook, “Effective” advises citizens not to allow EPS to replace their meters:

– A couple of years ago, there was that EPS action, when they sent consents to take over meters. We advised then not to agree to it – reminds “Effective”.

– Now you can see how right we were. In the past months, EPS has been replacing meters, new digital ones are being installed instead of the old ones. Since then, problems with increased accounts have started – conclude and advise citizens not to allow their meter to be replaced, especially if they have proof that (the meter) is theirs.

After the holidays – PROTEST/PERFORMANCE

The Consumers’ Association Effecta announced a protest – performance: “Pay a fake electricity bill with fake money!” which should take place after the holidays.

– Make your own banknotes, paint a banknote with the logo of EPS, theft, etc., then after the holidays we will go to the counters in Masarikova – propose from the Association and ask:

– Why can’t fake bills be paid with fake money?

Who reads the meters and if?

The city committee of the Party of Freedom and Justice warned at the beginning of April that a large number of residents of Novi Sad are forced to read their electricity meters themselves, and that EPS occasionally “treats them with astronomical bills for electricity they did not use”.

They emphasized that for the meter reading service, “EPS paid heavily to the company owned by ‘Montop’ Marko Bosanca Bosketone of the closest collaborators Miloš Vucevic.

SSP: The residents of Novi Sad read the electricity meters themselves, and the EPS “rewards” them with astronomical bills
