Performances and talks in honor and memory of the unique talent of director Vuk Torbica

“Igor Days”, a theater festival dedicated to the director Igor Vuk Torbica, who died early, begins today at the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad and will last until Monday, April 29. In honor of Torbica, ensembles of regional theaters, local actors and his friends will gather to talk about his work, while at the same time considering the future directions of the development of theater art.

One segment of this manifestation will be the conversation “Theatrical strategies of Igor Vuk Torbica: The space of the performative in acting” which will be held on Monday, April 29 at 5 pm on the “Pera Dobrinović” stage.

Big names of regional and domestic theaters, such as the actress of Prešern’s theater from Kranje Vesna Jevnikar, the actors of the Zagreb Youth Theater Mia Melcher and Rakan Rushaidat, the actress of Atelje 212 Hana Selimović, the actor of the Sombor National Theater Ninoslav Đorđević and the actor of the Serbian National Theater Dušan Vukašinović will talk about Igor’s inspiration and uniqueness when it comes to creativity, but visions about the further development of theater art. The conversation will be moderated by Katarina Pejović.

As a reminder, the “Days of Igor” event will be opened on April 25 by the play “Empire of Darkness” by Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, from the National Theater in Belgrade, and in this adventure that confronts us with the essence of human nature and the dark depths of the mind, the audience will be led by Olga Odanović, Hana Selimović, Vanja Ejdus, Nenad Pećinar, Anastasia Mandić, Marko Baćović, Ivan Đorđević, Nikola Vujović, Ivana Šćepanović, Novak Radulović and the girl Jelena Blagojević.

The following day, April 26, the play “Bakhe – a brief overview of the disintegration” of the National Theater from Bitola will be performed, which will shake the foundations of our beliefs and definitely awaken deep thoughts. Maja Andonovska Ilijevski, Ognen Drangovski, Sonja Mihajlova, Ivan Jerčik, Ilina Čorevska, Martin Mirčevski, Vasko Mavrovski, Viktorija Stepanovska – Jankulovska, Valentina Gramosli, Petar Spirovski, Sandra Gribovska, Anastasia Hristovska play in the play.

On the third day of the event, on April 28, on the “Pera Dobrinović” stage, the audience is waiting for the “Projection of the play: Tales from the Vienna Forest” of the City Drama Theater Gavella, a play with which Torbica, according to critics, exceeded expectations. As they further state, this play is a great author’s step forward, realized with a clear idea and precise conception. The performance ensemble consists of: Igor Kovač, Ksenija Pajić, Perica Martinović, Franjo Dijak, Nela Kocsis, Filip Križan, Janko Rakoš, Siniša Ružić, Filip Šovagović, Nataša Janjić, Jelena Miholjević, Barbara Nola, Nikola Baće, Tena Nemet Brankov, Anja Đurđinović Rakočević , Ivana Roščić/Martina Čvek, Sven Medvešek, Živko Anočić. Admission to the performance is free.

The event will close on April 29 with the performance of the National Theater “Toša Jovanović” from Zrenjanin – “Don Juan”, which asks the question: what and who would Don Juan be like in today’s world? This Moliere piece, directed by Torbica, is masterfully performed by Ivan Đorđević, Dejan Dedić, Sanja Radišić, Dejan Karlečik, Miljan Vuković, Zvonko Gojković, Prvoslav Zakovski, Jovan Torački, Edit Tot, Jelena Šneblić, Stefan Juanin, Mirko Pantelić and Jelena Kesić.
