“Biram borbu” is ready to start the campaign: Discussions are ongoing about a possible candidate for mayor and the distribution of mandates on the Belgrade list – Elections 2024

All this is expected in the next few days, since the representatives of the Green-Left Front, the People’s Movement of Serbia, the DS, the Ecological Uprising, the PSG and the New Face of Serbia are already extensively discussing the allocation of mandates on the electoral list for Belgrade, the eventual candidate for mayor, other local elections and election control.

According to our unofficial information, the beginning of the talks on the allocation of mandates was stormy due to the excessive appetites of individual members, which, as we were told, at one point threatened to lead to a split. However, our sources say that a deal is still possible, given that everyone is aware that they need to drop the ball because it would another division within the opposition had a very bad effect on the voters.

Miloš Pavlović, vice president National Movement of Serbiasays for Danas that “I choose the fight” will start on the day of the certification of the coalition agreement, which I believe will happen in the next two days.

– Given that the elections for the Belgrade municipalities are also scheduled for Friday, we expect the signing of the coalition agreement to be coordinated with the creation of conditions for the start of collecting signatures. As for the actual composition of the electoral list and the eventual candidate for mayor, negotiations are currently underway, and we will inform the public about everything in a timely manner – says Pavlović.

And his colleague, a member of the Presidency PSG Vladimir Pajić says that the coalition “I choose the fight” will enter the public part of the campaign in the coming days.

– At this moment, work is being done on the organization of election control, which will be crucial. In addition, agreements are being finalized at locations throughout Serbia. The ratio on the lists itself is really not decisive because it is primarily important for everyone to disempower SNS and satellites together. The name of the candidate will be announced soon with a firm belief in victory – he says.

At ZLF, until the publication of this text, we were unable to get an answer to the questions about the campaign, the list and the candidate for mayor.

Let us recall, pDeputy Speaker of the Assembly Ana Branabić will announce the elections on Friday at 10 a.m for the cities and municipalities in which they were not held on December 17, 2023. Thus, local elections throughout Serbia in more than 80 municipalities will be combined with the elections for the Belgrade City Assembly scheduled for June 2.
