NEW YORK – The President of Serbia Aleksanar Vučić stated today before leaving New York for Belgrade that he is proud of the fight that Serbia led in the UN and assessed that it will leave a mark both on the vote on the resolution on Srebrenica and later on bilateral relations.
“I’m proud of how they fought in the UN, because when you fight for your country, it’s up to you to do everything you can.” Serbia is fighting for its territory and freedom and will continue to do so, and it is our duty to protect the interests of our country, in every place”, stated Vučić on the Instagram profile “buducnostsrbijeav”. Vučić emphasized that he asked for support and help.
“Everything is boiling in the UN.” It is good that we spent a lot of time here, it will leave a mark both on the vote itself and later on in our bilateral relations”, he stated. According to the president, Serbia and its leadership and representatives still have a lot of work to do.
The only thing left is to continue to fight, to come out after everything with our heads held high, and then to dedicate ourselves to the further progress of Serbia, the president said on Instagram.
In New York on Monday evening, Vučić represented Serbia at the session of the UN Security Council, where the six-month report of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the work of UNMIC was presented. During his stay in New York, Vučić held a series of consultations with representatives of UN member states before the session of the General Assembly where the proposal for a resolution on Srebrenica is being considered at the UN headquarters in early May, in order to explain Serbia’s position on the announced resolution, reports Tanjug.
