And the history teacher from “Ribnikar” initiated a lawsuit against the parents of the killer boy.
On June 24, history teacher Tatjana S. will meet face to face with the parents of the boy who killed nine students and a guard at the “Vladislav Ribnikar” school in Vračar on May 3 last year. She has them sued for compensation for non-material damages due to physical pain, fear, reduction of life activity and humiliation.
The High Court in Belgrade states that the lawsuit was filed against the married couple, because they are not responsible for the crime committed by their son, but they are responsible “for the damage he caused due to bad upbringing, bad example or family habits given to him by his parents”.
The teacher, let’s recall, was the first person the juvenile shot when he opened the classroom door. Tatjana S. spent months recovering from the consequences of her severe wounding, after which she received a national pension.
This is the fifth claim in the civil proceedings against the boy’s parents. The first was filed by the parents of the murdered girl, the second by 27 family members of the other victims, and the third and fourth by two minors who were wounded on that occasion. The criminal proceedings against the parents, the instructor and the owner of the shooting range where, as it is suspected, the minor practiced shooting, began on Monday and then it was decided to close it to the public.
