The participants of the parliamentary dialogue on the improvement of election conditions will hold a meeting tomorrow at 1:00 pm with the representatives of Radio and Television of Serbia, in order to discuss the method of public service reporting in the upcoming election campaign. The president of the Democratic Party, Zoran Lutovac, told Nova.rs that at the meeting, the opposition will demand that RTS inform citizens in accordance with the Constitution and the law, because without the availability of information there can be no free and fair elections.

At the first meeting of the government and the opposition in the National Assembly, which was held on April 1, the opposition representatives presented three demands, among which was the one related to the way of reporting by Radio – Television of Serbia and Radio – Television of Vojvodina, i.e. that the public service should start reporting responsible and professional.

That request was accepted by the authorities immediately, with the explanation that even the Serbian Progressive Party is not satisfied with the work of RTS.

Now, after more than 20 days, the first meeting between RTS representatives and political actors has been arranged to discuss this request.

The meeting starts at 1 pm, and all the representatives of the parliamentary groups of the National Assembly of Serbia have been invited to the meeting, this was confirmed for Nova by the president of the Democratic Party, Zoran Lutovac.

He also explained to Nova what demands the opposition representatives will present at the meeting.

“In addition to the general request to inform citizens in accordance with the Constitution and laws, to be a real public service, and not Vučić’s propaganda tool, we will ask that critical thought be heard and that space and time be set aside for opposition political parties. In other words, to fulfill the legal obligation of the public service to reflect diversity in society,” said Lutovac and added that “without the availability of information, there are no free and fair elections. It is one of the key rights on which democratic elections rest.
