Photography, they say, is a secret about a secret: the more it tells us, the less we know. This wonderful world of works created in a fraction of a second is able to create magic even where there is none, and it is even more magical where there is magic.
Those who are “infected” by the magic of the camera gathered the seventh Annual Photo Exhibition, which opened in the gallery of the Cultural Center in Ribnica.
At the opening of the exhibition, Ana Zečević, editor of the Editorial Office for Fine Arts, pointed out that more than 50 authors from all over Serbia had applied for the competition.
38 authors presented their works at the exhibition. The jury consisting of Predrag Ilić (photographer), Milica Šolajić Popović (master of applied arts) and Ana Zečević (master of applied arts and design) unanimously awarded the award to Biljana Đukić for the photograph “Illuminated”. The jury awarded the praise to Darko Trajković for the work “Baka Gora (Orlovat)”.
In addition to the awarded and commended work, special recognition was given to the talented students from “Sveti Sava” Elementary School, who created a play of light and shadow in their works.
The award-winning author, Biljana Đukić, an academic painter, pointed out that, although drawing and collage are the closest expression to her, there are scenes and atmospheres that she does not depict with the mentioned techniques.
– Often observing perfect scenes and colors in nature, I want to record what I see directly, to build a composition with the camera. Photography today provides incredible opportunities for artist expression on all subjects, from engaging art to observing wondrous changes in nature. – said the award-winning author.
Anyone interested can see the exhibition on weekdays in the gallery of the Cultural Center in Ribnica, where it will be on display until May 6.
