The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić said today that already on the first day of testing the section of the high-speed railway from Novi Sad to Subotica, a speed of 202 kilometers per hour was achieved, which confirmed the quality of the construction of that railway.

He stated on his Instagram that the German company Deutsche Bahn (DBST), which is testing the high-speed railway from Novi Sad to Subotica, which Serbia is building with its Chinese partners, tested a section of that high-speed railway on Wednesday.

Vesić emphasized that Serbian high-speed railways are a combination of Chinese technology and European standards and that all our high-speed railways are built entirely according to European standards, in accordance with EU directives and the Serbian law on the interoperability of railway traffic.

“The high-speed railway that we are now building from Novi Sad is certified for EU standards by one of the largest European companies from the Netherlands, and the technical control and acceptance is carried out by the respected German company Deutsche Ban,” said Vesić, reports Tanjug.

The minister also pointed out that today Serbia is one of the few countries in Europe where Chinese, German and Dutch companies can work together, thanks to the policy led by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

Vesić also announced that traffic on the high-speed railway to Subotica will begin at the beginning of December this year. “Serbia will have 183 kilometers of high-speed railways.” From Belgrade to Subotica will be reached by high-speed train in 80 minutes, to Bačka Topola in 64 minutes, and to Vrbas in 53 minutes,” said Vesić.
