In the Novi Sad courts, the High Court and the Basic Court, in which the proceedings against Milutinović are conducted, they could not confirm the information for 021.rs.
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior told 021.rs that, at the moment, it is not possible to release this type of information.
The sniper escaped on May 5 last year, and it was only learned a few days later.
He was previously sentenced to two and a half years in prison for abusing a girl with whom he was in an emotional relationship.
Regardless of Milutinović’s criminal past, the court decided to transfer him from prison to house arrest with a nanowire.
When sending him to house arrest after the sentencing, the judge explained his decision by saying that Milutinović had been in custody for a year and a half, and “he has children aged five and seven who suffered for him”.
By the way, the Appellate Court in Novi Sad recently made a decision to cancel part of this verdict, that is, to acquit him of one of the three criminal offenses – coercion. For the other two crimes, the verdict was confirmed, so he was sentenced to a single sentence of one year and 10 months in prison. The case was returned to the first instance court.
As it turned out, he went for a walk on the disputed day, which he was entitled to from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., and did not return.
An international arrest warrant was issued for Sniper, and it was initially assumed that he was hiding in one of the neighboring countries.
Proceedings are being conducted against him before the Basic Court for illegal possession of weapons.
After his escape, it was decided that Milutinović, in this case, would be tried in absentia.
