Local elections in Sremska Mitrovica: Electoral Commission – Decision on forms for electoral lists within three days

Sremska Mitrovica – The coming days bring a political and legal sprint in Sremska Mitrovica so that local elections can be held simultaneously with the already scheduled Belgrade elections. Key steps must be taken to comply with deadlines and procedures.

According to the law, current mayors and presidents of municipalities must resign in order to allow elections to take place. This step will make it possible to call new elections, but the deadlines are extremely short, which means that pre-election activities will be extremely fast.

Elections for councilors and mayors will be announced by the President of the National Assembly. After that, the Electoral Commission of the city of Sremska Mitrovica will, within three days, make a decision on the forms for submitting the electoral list of candidates for councilors in the assembly of the city of Sremska Mitrovica.

The decision and forms will be published on the website of the Republic Election Commission (REC) and the website of the city of Sremska Mitrovica. These forms will be available to all political entities interested in participating in the elections for councilors of the Sremska Mitrovica city assembly.
