Zemun Grammar School, a school with a tradition currently attended by around 1,300 students. However, the good reputation of this school is at risk. Namely, part of the employees claim that the director, who has been at the head of this institution for 14 years, privatizes, hires and staffs at his own discretion. He is preparing for retirement, so he has practically determined his successor without a competition.
This elite high school is the image and opportunity of the country we live in, of all the mechanisms and malpractices that are systematically applied, claim the employees who wanted their voices to be heard – that’s why we give the word of the morning in the morning program “Wake Up” to the Serbian professor Sanja Štrbac and the art professor Vojislav Klačar.
The Zemun High School recently received a letter from the Ministry of Education, in which a teacher is invited to take the exam for a director’s license, although the competition for that position has not yet been announced. Because of this, a group of professors think that this position has been pre-allocated to a professor who, they say, is a close associate of the current director, who is retiring in the fall. The director for N1 claims that the suspicions of his colleagues are unjustified and that everyone has an equal chance.
