Novi Sad criminal Slobodan Milutinović, aka Sniper, was arrested on Thursday in Madrid after a year on the run, according to the media.

Slobodan Milutinović Sniper disappeared on May 5 last year, while he was under house arrest with electronic monitoring. He went for a walk, which he was entitled to, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., and since then all trace of him has been lost.

After that, the MUP announced an international search for Milutinović.

Sniper has been under house arrest since April last year due to coercion, deprivation of liberty and abuse of a girl with whom he was in an emotional relationship. After sentencing him to two years and six months in prison, the Novi Sad High Court decided to transfer him from prison to house arrest, because “children suffer for him”.

For now, the details of his arrest in Madrid are not known.

Slobodan Milutinović Sniper, thanks to his connections with SNS and former mayor of Novi Sad and current Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević, is interesting not only for newspaper black chronicles. Allegedly, he belongs or belonged to the team of Zvonko Veselinović, a “controversial businessman” from Kosovo, who – according to insiders – burns and burns Novi Sad in the name of the ruling party.

When Sniper “vaporized” last year during an afternoon walk, the authorities found out about his escape only four days later when he did not appear at the trial for violent behavior at the 2018 indoor soccer tournament.

In this lengthy process, he was accused together with his brother and two other friends of controlling FC “Vojvodina” fans and some youth criminal circles for the needs of SNS.

A criminal record

The sniper is also known in some circles as “Velja Nevolja from Novi Sad”, he was previously accused and/or convicted of drug trafficking, possession of illegal weapons and causing serious bodily harm.

According to the media, he spent a total of three years in prison, and was convicted seven times. The sniper survived three assassination attempts. Namely, an explosive device was planted under his car three times.

In general, his name often appeared on the pages of the black chronicle: in 2017, as a member of the club’s management, he beat the then football player of “Vojvodina” Nikola Trujić.

The sniper was once beaten and stabbed by Marko Markuš, the son of a former Novi Sad police officer, who was then killed, and the killer and the masterminds were never discovered.

A little more than two years ago, Milutinović was arrested in Jahorina, and then promptly released. The reason for the arrest was suspicion of drug trafficking.
