Together, they are not boycotting the elections in Novi Sad: 19 parties and movements will resist the humiliation in solidarity

As the Zajedno party announced earlier today, the decision was made not to participate “in any elections scheduled for June 2.”

“We refuse to be complicit in an organized criminal enterprise that robs citizens of their sovereign right to freely decide who will carry out public affairs.” it is stated in the statement of that party.

Soon after that, the Novi Sad and provincial committees of the same party issued a statement that they will participate in the elections in Novi Sad, but also that they “fully understand the reasons of the party headquarters for boycotting all local elections”.

“The conditions of these elections are far from free and democratic, but on the other hand, citizens expect us to go to the polls and clearly oppose the further ruin of our country and citizens. Boycotts and puppet revolutions have not yielded results so far, it’s time to oppose them.” they stated.

They point out that “we are close to a desolate country, over a million citizens have left our country, we are trapped in the corrupt activities of the SNS cartel, dirty investments and humiliation of citizens”.

“In Novi Sad, over 19 parties and movements reached an agreement to stand in solidarity against further humiliation. Our committees in Vojvodina will not give up the fight, in all formats. The membership and citizens expect our full participation in the elections, even if they are unequal”stated in the statement Zajedno.

They add that “the achieved unity, after a number of years, guarantees that Novi Sad will be the first free city in Serbia”.

“Referring to the basic principles of the Zajedno party, territorial and organizational decentralization, as well as the autonomous position of fully constituted party committees, Zajedno za Novi Sad emphasizes its explicit intention to participate in the upcoming Novi Sad elections, which is a decision that we have argued precisely and in detail on several occasions. either in public space, or at party bodies”, it is stated in the announcement.

Together for Novi Sad, as they point out, “emerged from the fight against injustice, against the autocratic and centralist government, and the fight for a better Novi Sad”.

“At the moment of the general gathering of the Novi Sad opposition, we have no right to remain on the sidelines. On June 2, we liberate our city, together, that is what is expected of us.” they pointed out at the end.
