Edin Gačanin, the head of the drug cartel who was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Netherlands, planned to buy a helicopter in Bosnia and Herzegovina for his own needs, and for this purpose he paid for pilot training for Adnan Smajlović and Aida Halać, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

Smajlović and Halaceva were arrested as part of the police operation “Black Tie 2” and were sentenced to one month’s detention. The prosecution claims that they were associates of the “Tito and Dino” cartel.

They are charged with the criminal offenses of organized crime, money laundering, abuse of position, receiving rewards and other forms of benefits in the case of Zlatko Ibrišimović and others, recently the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered them to be detained.

According to the Prosecution, Smajlović and Halać attended theoretical and practical training for the pilots who would fly the helicopter and transport Gačanin.

“During the communication, they report to Gačanin about the passed exams in the theoretical part so that they can move on to the practical part of the training.” They are also discussing the possible establishment of a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina that would deal with air transport. The prosecution claims that the idea was Gačanin’s,” writes the Sarajevo portal Klix.

The prosecution alleges that Gačanin wanted the participants to learn how to fly a helicopter, and with that goal he paid for a theory and practical course held in Belgrade. Gačanin sends two photos showing two different helicopters. About one of the helicopters, Gačanin said that it is worth 1.3-1.4 million dollars, and that he will buy it for them, but only when they learn well. Until then, he will buy them the Robinson helicopter that was in the second photo, which he said is worth between 200 and 250 thousand dollars.

In this context, the Prosecution states that Halać received 3,000 euros for the theoretical part of the training and 600 euros for the first flights. The Prosecution claims that Smajlović and Halać spent a total of 15,000 KM during their stay in Belgrade, so Halać, who used the code name “Griselda” in Sky Communications, asked Smajlović if the “brother” was angry about how much they had spent in Belgrade, on to which Smajlović replied that it was not and that everything was OK.

According to the prosecutor’s office, from 2016 to 2021, an organized criminal group led by Adnan Smajlović obtained and laundered money obtained from drug trafficking within the “Tito and Dino” cartel.

It is about an organized criminal group that operated on the territory of several countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, the UAE, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, South America, the Republic of South Africa and other countries.
