The director of the Association of Travel Agencies of Serbia YUTA, Aleksandar Seničić, said today that there is great interest in arrangements both in the country and abroad during the upcoming holidays.

When it comes to Serbia, among the most sought-after destinations are Vrnjačka, Soko and Prolom spas, as well as the mountains Kopaonik, Zlatibor and Tara.

“There was a lot of interest because we have six non-working days combined. Mostly, the most popular arrangements were those organized by bus. I am sure that there will be a few more seats for the most persistent ones on those departures. When it comes to flight arrangements, they are mostly sold out last week,” Senicic told Tanjug.

As he pointed out, there is a possibility that, due to the cancellation, a place will be found at the airline destinations, and he advises citizens to remain persistent until the last moment.

“The situation is similar when it comes to destinations in Serbia. A large number of people want to spend these holidays together with their family at a destination in Serbia. I am sure that it is possible to find some places in private accommodation,” said Seničić and added that the hotel capacity is full and there are very few places left.

When it comes to flight arrangements, Senicic says that the greatest interest at this time of the year is always for European cities.

“Thanks to the fact that Serbia has a large number of direct flights to various destinations in Europe, we have the privilege and the opportunity to organize these direct flights very simply. The greatest interest was in the south of Europe – first of all in Lisbon, then Valencia, Malaga, Barcelona, and in Italy it is Bari, Bologna, Rome and Milan,” Senicic pointed out.

When it comes to Central European destinations, Seničić points out that there is the greatest interest in arrangements in Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin, Istanbul, Athens.

“Also, Mediterranean islands, places with very nice weather, such as Malta and Cyprus, are sought after, but North Africa, Tunisia and especially Egypt are also sought after. “Egypt is the only destination where you can be sure that you will already start your summer vacation, given that the temperatures are already over 30 degrees, and the sea temperature is somewhere around 26 degrees Celsius,” Senicic said.

When asked how he comments on the increased interest of citizens even though almost all arrangements have become more expensive, Seničić says that this is because the citizens also recognized that it is global inflation and that it does not depend on the organizers of travel agencies.

“Everything around us has become more expensive in recent months and in the last year, somewhere between 10-20 percent. This, of course, also caused an increase in the prices of tourist services. Two major global crises, the wars in Ukraine and in Gaza, led to an increase in the price of fuel above all, which affects the price of transportation to a large extent,” explains Senicic.
