The family of Zoran, who was beaten to death at Zvezdara, is inconsolable, they are not giving up the fight

Zoran Nedeljković (61) died on May 29 last year as a result of a brutal beating that took place a month earlier in the Belgrade neighborhood of Zvezdara, and a few days ago it was exactly one year since the horrific attack. His family announces that they will fight for justice until the end, that is, until the suspect for beating Zoran is adequately punished.

“A year of pain, sadness and tears, for me, our parents and my father’s family.” A year of fighting with the prosecutor’s office and other state institutions that we addressed. The fight continues because we will not give up. We will fight for justice and for the perpetrator of this crime and his accomplices to receive the punishment they deserve,” says Zoran’s sister Gordana Martinović for Nova.rs.

On the other hand, Zoran, Nemanja’s son, points out to Nova.rs that he is inconsolable about everything, but adds that he will not give up until justice is served.

“A year has passed since the monstrous attack on my father by my neighbor Nikola Sh. I feel deep sadness and pain for the loss, but at the same time I also feel the determination to fight for justice. Our fight with the prosecution has been challenging and exhausting, but we are not giving up. We will continue to fight until justice is served, because that is what my father deserves. His character must not be forgotten, and our fight is not only for him, but also for all those who are unfairly affected by similar events,” says Nemanja.

The case of the beating of Zoran was overshadowed by numerous irregularities during the investigation.

Thus, the accused Nikola Š. defended from freedom, and the prosecutor’s offices “argued” for months about who was responsible because no one wanted to accept the case.

In the end, Nikola Sh. accused of grievous bodily harm with fatal outcome, committed at random, and among the evidence in the indictment is a video from the surveillance cameras of the neighbor’s house, which shows how the beating took place.

Let’s remind you, Zoran Nedeljković was beaten on April 25 last year, and a month later he died from his injuries. The family of the beaten Zoran claims from the very beginning that the investigation of the case was poorly conducted, from the very qualification of the event to the fact that the assailant was not detained.

The trial in the mentioned case has recently started.
