Today: The group of parties of the former coalition “Serbia against violence” agreed on the allocation of mandates for the June elections in Belgrade, ZLF received more than a third of the seats, the name of the candidate for mayor is awaited

Representatives of the opposition parties that will go to the polls on June 2nd, and are running under the slogan “I choose the fight”, have reached an agreement in principle regarding the distribution of mandates on the list for the elections for the Belgrade City Assembly. ZLF has the most seats in the first 33 candidates on the list and Novo lice Serbia has the least, sources from this coalition told Danas.

As we were told, the talks are continuing, and the name of the list is being considered, but as of this writing, the final decision has not yet been made.

Some of the suggestions so far are “I choose freedom”, “I choose health” or “I choose Belgrade”. As our interlocutors say, there are many proposals, but no decisions yet.

Our sources state that the question of a candidate for the mayor of Belgrade is still open if this coalition has one, since, as we learn, there were also opinions that perhaps a candidate should not be nominated.

Danas’ sources from the “Biram Borbu” group, which consists of the Green-Left Front, the National Movement of Serbia, the DS, the Ecological Uprising, the PSG and the New Face of Serbia, report that no one is eager to be a candidate, given that there is little probability that they will be in the opportunity to govern Belgrade after these elections.

When it comes to the distribution of mandates, at the time of writing, ZLF had 13 candidates in the first 33, NPS six, PSG four, DS five, Ecological Uprising four and NLS one. It is not excluded that there may be a change.

Along with discussions about the distribution of mandates on the Belgrade list, there was also discussion about the lists and candidates for the elections in 17 Belgrade municipalities. And there is a great degree of agreement at this moment.

Let us remind you, as Danas already wrote, “I choose the fight”, prepared a strategy for the campaign that will start after the signing of the coalition agreement and will be coordinated with the beginning of collecting signatures.

According to our unofficial information, the beginning of the discussion on the distribution of mandates was stormy due to the excessive appetites of certain members, which, as we were told, at one point threatened to lead to a split, but during the meeting that lasted late into the night between Thursday and Friday, everyone dropped the ball and their demands, so the agreement was reached.
