The Third International Zlatibor Cup opened in Zlatibor

On Friday, April 26, 2024, the third consecutive international football tournament “Zlatibor Cup” was officially opened on Zlatibor’s King’s Square.

The ceremonial opening began with a parade of participating teams. More than 3,000 young football players paraded through the center of Zlatibor. With music, socializing and an unusual performance by the “Circus Animator”, the little ones had the opportunity to have great fun and meet their sports rivals. The organizers, led by the Municipality of Čajetina, the Zlatibor Tourist Organization and the Zlatibor Tourist and Recreational Complex, tried their best this year to give all participants a nice welcome, so the start of the tournament, along with interesting animations, was also marked by a big fireworks display. At the opening ceremony, the director of the Zlatibor Tourist Organization, Vladimir Živanović, as well as former prominent football player Milan Biševac, greeted the attendees.

This year’s tournament runs from April 26 to 29. For three competitive days, the soccer fields at the “Switzerland” stadium, as well as the fields of the “Palisad” hotel next to the lake on Zlatibor, become a place for serious sports competitions for soccer players, but also for children’s games, fun, and socializing. We are proud to point out that over 90 football teams took part in this year’s tournament, and young football players aged from 2010 to 2017 are taking part in the competitions. Young soccer hopefuls are coming to Zlatibor this year from all over the world. So this year, Zlatibor gathered football teams from Italy, Spain, Russia, Portugal, Malta, from the countries of the region (Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Slovenia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia), but also from distant China. Renowned teams from the very top of European football such as Espanyol, Udinese, Steaua will participate in this year’s tournament, and inevitably there will be a large number of domestic teams from all parts of Serbia, including the hosts on the field, FC Zlatibor and FC Cajetina.
