Arrested men who falsified detergents of well-known manufacturers, announced the prosecution

A large-scale arrest operation took place yesterday in three locations, when two citizens of Novi Sad and a citizen of Belgrade were arrested on suspicion of counterfeiting products of other manufacturers of household chemicals. Among other things, more than 2 thousand confectionery products, 26 barrels with raw materials for making detergents, more than 11 thousand pieces of packaging for confectionery products and household chemicals were found.

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Criminal Police Department and the Police Department in Novi Sad, in cooperation with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad and the Republic Market Inspection, arrested SJ (1982) and MJ (1973) from Novi Sad, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed criminal acts acts of unauthorized use of someone else’s business name and other special marks of goods or services and illegal trade.

MM (1978) from the Belgrade area was also arrested, against whom a criminal complaint will be filed for assisting in the commission of the criminal offense of unauthorized use of someone else’s business name and other special marks for goods or services.

After searching several locations, in the area of ​​Novi Sad and Belgrade, the police found a large amount of counterfeit food and household chemical products, as well as equipment for their production and packaging, in Veternik.

On this occasion, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office of Novi Sad announced more details of the joint action.

Stopped illegal production

– A search was carried out at several addresses in Veternik, Bački Jarko and Barajevo, during which a large amount of counterfeit household chemical products as well as equipment for the production of counterfeit products (prepared packaging, labels, chemicals and production equipment) of the injured party were found at the addresses in Veternik. Procter & Gamble” as well as for the packaging of food products in order to mark them with the brand of another manufacturer, ošt. “Bambi” AD – stated in their statement.

As they add, a criminal complaint will be filed against three suspects, namely JS (born in 1982) and JM (born in 1973), to the basic public prosecutor in Novi Sad for committing the criminal offense of unauthorized use of someone else’s business name and other special markings of goods or service from art. 238 st. 2 of the Criminal Code and the criminal offense of illegal trade from Art. 235 st. 1 of the Criminal Code, while a criminal complaint was filed against MM (born in 1978) for assisting in the commission of a criminal offense under Art. 238 st. 2 of the Criminal Code, whereby the suspects JS and JM were detained for 48 hours, during which time they will be brought to the acting public prosecutor for questioning.

Further work continues in the subject, the necessary expertise and other evidentiary actions will be carried out in order to determine the extent of illegal production and the possible participation of other persons in the execution of the aforementioned criminal acts.

The goods that are the subject of a criminal offense were temporarily confiscated by the Republic Market Inspection and transferred to a storage area where they will be secured.
