The previous commander, Brigadier General Zoran Nasković, handed over his duties to General Jovica Matić.

The Commander of the Land Army, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, thanked Nasković for his professional, honorable and dignified command, as well as the members of the First Brigade for their commitment and work so far.

“You performed all the complex tasks that were before you in the best possible way with maximum commitment, which earned you the full trust of the citizens.” said Simović and wished the newly appointed commander success in his new duty.

The First Brigade of the Land Army consists of 11 battalion-level units, i.e. divisions – infantry, armored-mechanized, artillery and artillery-missile units for anti-aircraft operations, engineering, logistics units and telecommunications units.

The command of the First Brigade is located in Novi Sad, and the units are stationed in Bačka Topola, Loznica, Novi Sad, Pančevo, Sremska Mitrovica and Zrenjanin.
