The action of the Serbian special forces was carried out in coordination with the National Police of Spain, which at the same time in the regions of Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Alicante and Tarragona arrested over 20 people, most of whom are Serbian citizens, found several illegal laboratories for the production of marijuana and seized a huge amount of money.

The spectacular action of the Serbian and Spanish police was carried out under the auspices of Europol. After the exchange of operational data and information by Serbian and Spanish colleagues, actions to arrest dangerous criminals began at the same time. The newspaper “El Pais” writes that at least 20 people were arrested, most of whom are of Serbian origin, who are suspected of producing and dealing in narcotics, as well as other serious crimes.

– In the operation, one of the main bosses of the Serbian mafia was caught and arrested. However, the arrest operation continues with searches of houses, several apartments of the suspects, companies, and plantations where marijuana was grown. Actions are carried out in the areas of Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Alicante and Tarragona – it says in the text.

According to that portal, this criminal organization mainly grew cannabis and that was their main source of income.

– However, it is suspected that the group was involved in the resale of other types of narcotics, as well as weapons. It is suspected that the arrested members of the group were exiled from their countries due to crime, mainly from Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, who found refuge in Spain. The basis of this gang is the cultivation of marijuana, and money from earnings was invested and laundered through fruit growing companies and restaurants – the text adds.

On the other hand, the suspects who were arrested in Alicante have close ties with the shipping companies through which cocaine shipments arrived from Latin America.

– Some of the arrested apparently had some experience or came from the port of Kotor where as sailors they acquired great skills while smuggling cocaine – writes “El Pais” without mentioning the names of the arrested.

On the other hand, the “Caso Abierto” portal writes that the national police arrested 20 people this Tuesday in order to break up the Serbian mafia on Spanish soil.

– In addition to the arrests, the agents dismantled several marijuana plantations, and during the search of several apartments and houses, drugs ready for transport to Serbia were seized, as well as a large amount of money – states “Caso Abierto”.

The names of the two arrested criminals in Serbia have also not been announced, but it is stated that the action is still ongoing and that more arrests should be expected in the coming days.
