The weather in Serbia will be changeable today, with rain in places, and during the second part of the day storms are also possible in some parts of Serbia.

There will be a weak and moderate wind, in Vojvodina and mountainous areas and a strong, western and southwestern wind, in the afternoon and evening gradually turning to the northwest wind. The lowest temperature will be from six to 10, and the highest from 14 in the northwest to 21 degrees in the southeast of Serbia.

Partly cloudy in Belgrade during the day, and from the middle of the day occasionally with rain and local showers with thunder. The lowest temperature will be from seven to nine, and the highest around 17 degrees.

Due to bad weather, a yellow weather alert is in effect today in Bačka, Banat, Srem, Belgrade, Šumadija, Pomoravlje, and in the territory of western Serbia.

Hailz Serbia: Appearance of supercells from 13 hours

Hailz Serbia, the meteorological system, published a graphic representation of the parts of Serbia where the development of the storm during the afternoon is most certain. With a red line, they marked the sector with the most certain appearance of supercells between 1 pm and 6 pm this afternoon. While orange is a dry line (area of storm initiation).

“The northern parts of Mačvanski, Kolubarski and Šumadija districts will have the most certain stronger development of afternoon storms. They are followed by Sremski (southern part), Podunavski, southern Banat, and northern Braničevo. Then Belgrade – southern municipalities (Lazarevac, Obrenovac, Barajevo, Sopot, Mladenovac, Grocka).

A dry line is an area where air masses are separated based on their dew point (moisture). North of the line is a humid and unstable atmosphere, further south in the lower layers it is extremely dry, due to the drying effect of the southwest wind. Due to the convergence of the wind towards this sector and the difference in humidity, this line is the localization of the creation of storm clouds, after which they will be released in several waves in the afternoon and moved by a southwesterly flow to the northeast.

“Smederevska Palanka (wetter sector) has a dew point of about 13 degrees, the southwest of Serbia (dry) is about zero degrees”, reads the publication of Hilz Serbia.
