One of the high-ranking members of the “scalar clan”, Milić Minja Šaković, was killed on Friday night, shortly before midnight, in Budva, it was confirmed to “Vijesti”. He was liquidated in a cafe in Budva in front of the walls of the Old Town.

“Tonight, firearms were used in Budva, in front of the walls of the Old Town, during which one person was killed. It is about M.Š. The police, in cooperation with the competent prosecutor’s office, are undertaking activities to shed light on the events, the outcome of which will be informed to the public in a timely manner, “the Police Administration of Montenegro announced.

One of the sources told “Vijesti” that a man who was sitting at the table next to his and who was not masked, shot Saković. Apparently, he just got up and fired several shots at him.

Another source states that Šaković was sitting at a table in the front row and that his back was facing the promenade when a man with a white shirt and cap approached and fired several shots at him. There was confusion, which the killer used and fled near the hotel “Mogren”.

According to the “Vijesti” source, the police found a shirt and a cap.

Sakovic was brought in connection with the murder of Salet Mutavi

The Belgrade police were looking for Milić Šaković on suspicion that he participated in the liquidation of the leader of Partizan fans, Aleksandar Stanković, aka Sale Mutavi, who was killed on October 13, 2016 in Belgrade.

Sakovic was also detained when the police found two repertoire pistols with 15 bullets each in a special compartment of his armored vehicle. However, after the interrogation, he was released, because his friend stated that the guns belonged to him.

The murdered Milić Minja Šaković was arrested on February 7, 2019 in Podgorica on suspicion that he tried to kill two members of the Kavač criminal clan on March 27, 2016 in Kotor. The Police Administration then announced that the suspects in the attempted murder of the alleged leader of the scandal, Jovan Vukotić, and later Igor Dedović were killed.

After his arrest before the prosecutor and the investigating judge, Sakovic claimed that he was not in Kotor on the night when Vojin Stupar and Milos Radonjic were shot. The prosecution suspected that that night Dedović, who was killed in Athens, was behind the wheel of the “BMW” with which he, Vukotić and Šaković blocked the way for Stupar and Radonjić and shot at them.

He survived several assassination attempts

In police documents, Milic Minja Sakovic was considered a high-ranking member of the “Skaljar clan”, but also the leader of the Podgorica branch, who has been the target of murderers from the rival “Kavac clan” several times in the last few years.

On September 8, 2017, Šaković survived an assassination attempt after the killers shot him in the chest with an automatic rifle with five bullets in a cafe in the center of Podgorica while he was waiting for his car to be washed at the service station. Then, Ivan Nedović from Podgorica, the son of the owner of the car service, who was at the table with Šaković, was killed. Sakovic survived that day, most likely thanks to his brother Marko, who threw himself over him and knocked him to the floor.

At the beginning of March 2021, the police arrested a five-member organized criminal group, which is charged with planning the murder of Milić Minja Šaković. The special state prosecutor’s office believes that they prevented the group from killing Sakovic, and investigators found several photos of him in the encrypted phones of those arrested.

The special state prosecutor’s office also conducted an investigation, since on December 15, 2020, Šaković was left without an armored Audi. Fake buyers then stole his car and instead of several tens of thousands of euros, as was the agreement, they left a forged passport. The case is in the hands of the SDT, due to the grounds for suspicion that they intended to kill Sakovic even then.

In mid-December 2017, two months after surviving his injury, Šaković reported to the police that he was chasing a man down the street, who allegedly came to his house by bicycle to kill him.

According to insiders, due to the long-term war between the “scalping” and “Kavac” clans, Sakovic was very careful. He rarely left the house, and he used only an armored car and was accompanied by security.
