A disturbing video has surfaced on social media purportedly showing a Ukrainian sniper hitting a Russian soldier from an incredible 3,800 meters away, the Daily Star Courier reports.

It is not known where the gruesome scene was recorded, but the footage has been verified by many experts, including trusted military blogger Albin Fell.

– New world record! SBU sniper hit the invader from a distance of 3,800 meters. The SBU sniper set a world record for the most effective shot. The previous record was 3,540 meters. It is important to note that this shot was fired from the Ukrainian “Lord of the Horizon” rifle. The video clearly shows the shots and the fear of the occupiers standing nearby. SBU snipers are changing the rules of world snipers by showing the ability to work effectively at fantastic distances – the blogger says.

The LOTH or “Lord of the Horizon” sniper rifle has an accuracy of one arc minute which is approximately 0.016 degrees when used as an angular measurement overall. A bullet fired from it maintains supersonic speed during the first 2,700 meters of its journey.

Second place shot, which is Ukraine knocked out of first place, now held by a sniper from the Canadian Army, who hit an Islamic State militant in Iraq from a distance of 3,450 meters.
