The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, “taught a lesson” to Janik Siner in the final of the final tournament. The challengers know that all roads will lead through Djokovic next year as well, writes the German press.
“Djokovic dismantled the local matador Siner in the end of the ATP final,” writes the German sports magazine Kicker.
The magazine writes that Novak Djokovic only had to tremble in one moment of the tournament, when his placement in the semi-finals depended on Siner’s victory over Holger Rune in the group stage.
“But then the number one showed brutal focus. He so convincingly defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals and Yannick Sinner in the final that there is no doubt that he is the deserved winner of the clash of the best players this year,” writes Kicker, as reported by Deutsche Welle.
That’s how Djokovic won a record seventh title at the final tournaments. Kicker writes that the message to the challengers is clear: “And in 2024, all roads lead through Djokovic at major tournaments.”
The portal of the weekly Spiegel writes that the final was a “striking demonstration of the power” of the best player in the world.
“The record winner of Slams taught the previously undefeated Sinner a lesson.” “Strong, dominant, with full concentration – at times you could see a class of difference,” the portal writes.
The newspaper Rajniše Post writes that Djokovic is “still the measure of all things” in tennis.
Fokus magazine headlines on its portal: “He is simply too strong!”
“After the next important point in his impressive career, Novak Djokovic could actually take a well-deserved rest,” writes the largest German news agency dpa.
“But, although the world’s number one tennis player won three Grand Slams this year and won a record victory in the ATP finals on Sunday night, the season is not over yet,” writes dpa about the fact that Djokovic will go straight to Malaga to play for Serbia in the Davis Cup.
