Windows 11 oment 5 is in preparation for Windows 11 24H2, and while some features are new, some are significantly improved. Here are four of the best examples.
Deleting system applications
If you have Windows 11 Moment 5, you can uninstall more pre-installed apps than was possible before. This includes, for example, Microsoft Edge, but also other applications such as Camera or Photos.
Better schedule
By dragging a specific application window to the edge of the screen, Windows 11 now suggests a “smart layout”.
If you move the arrow over the icon to make the window larger, Windows 11 will display this without having to hold and drag the window – this feature is called “Snap Layout”, and it offers more options for automatically arranging windows.
If you often work with several applications at the same time, you will quickly learn how to use this feature, and it will be valuable to you.
Improved Windows Airdrop
With the Windows “Nearby” feature, also known as “Nearby Sharing”, users can more easily share files between Windows computers.
The feature is based on macOS’s Airdrop, and with the new update, users can control more sharing details — such as the computer name when using the feature.
Easier troubleshooting
In the future, the “Fix problems using Windows Update” option will be available in the operating system settings, when you go to System -> Recovery.
If Microsoft finds what the problem is and there’s an update to help fix it, you can install it from there.
During the process, Windows 11 is reinstalled using the current version. All settings and data are saved, so the procedure is similar to installing from the cloud.
