The Swedish company Embracer Group, known for its investments in the video game industry, has announced a significant reorganization through the formation of three separate companies, which will focus on different aspects of the business. This decision allows each new firm to specialize, according to Embracer.

Lars Wingeforsco-founder and CEO, emphasized that each of the new companies will have its own unique strategy, which will contribute to a clearer focus and better positioning on the market.

Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends will continue to develop and publish AAA video games, with an emphasis on already successful franchises such as Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings. This company is expected to become a leader in the creative development of high-budget games, writes The Verge.

Asmodee Group will focus on the publishing and distribution of board games, continuing the development of successful titles such as CATAN and Ticket to Ride, while developing new projects based on licenses from popular franchises such as Marvel and Star Wars.

Coffee Stain & Friends will focus on indie, mid-market and free-to-play games, looking to expand its portfolio with popular titles such as Goat Simulator and Valheim. This company aims to build a recognizable identity in the niche of independent and innovative games.

The reorganization of the Embracer Group represents a strategic move aimed at optimizing performance and better utilizing the potential of each of the activities within the corporation.

According to Vingefors, this process should be completed and the shares of the new companies publicly available within the next 12 months, while the shares of Coffee Stain & Friends should be on the market by 2025.
