79 senators voted for the adoption of the law, which passed the Congress after several months of delay, and 18 against, which is far more than the required majority in the Senate of 100 members for the law to be adopted.

In order for the law to come into force, it needs to be signed by US President Joseph Biden.

The aid package envisages 61 billion dollars for Ukraine, 26 billion for Israel, and about 8.12 billion for “countering communist China” in the Indo-Pacific, reports Reuters.
