Macron noted that the battle to build a strong Europe is far from over and risks falling behind global rivals in the coming decade, Reuters reports.

Europe, as assessed by Macron, is at a tipping point and must do more to compete with the accelerated armament of its global rivals.

He also noted that the EU must “establish a dialogue with Third World countries and show that it is not a vassal of the United States of America”.

He also pointed out that Europe must become aware of the fact that it is not sufficiently armed in the face of, as he said, global threats, such as Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Macron noted that the EU’s economic growth model must change because the current one is not sustainable, and that the EU is lagging behind in a “global context in which the principles of free trade are being questioned.”

He added that Brexit was “an explosion whose negative effects mean that today no one should dare to propose leaving Europe”.

Macron warned that the European bureaucracy can be “too complicated” and that the recent protests of European farmers and their “anger was not against the EU, but against regulation, complexity”.

Macron pointed out that the EU must strengthen the domestic military industry, establish a European military academy to train European soldiers, strengthen its cyber security capabilities, but also renew defense ties with Great Britain.

– One of the problems we Europeans have is that we are divided when it comes to the defense industry. Our division is a weakness that we experienced in a cruel and concrete way during the war in Ukraine – Macron stated and added that it is impossible to build “European sovereignty and autonomy” without a strong military industry.

The French president warned that in Europe “our values and our culture are in danger”, stating that the media content watched by children and adolescents in Europe is “more and more American and Asian”, according to Mond.

– These three remarks about security, economy and culture lead me to say that the issue of our sovereignty is much more important today than before – said Macron.

He said he wants the EU to be a “world leader by 2030” in five strategic sectors: artificial intelligence, space, biotechnology, quantum information and renewable and nuclear energy capacities.
