Minister Vučević’s address

– This is something that shows in practice what the agreement between the leadership of the two countries means. I am proud of the Serbia we live in today, where it is understood that this project will be completed, that the citizens know that this railway will be completed. This is a high-speed railway that was built in the shortest time in the whole world. It is a great success. I am proud of Serbia, where in about 7-8 months it will take 80 minutes to travel from Belgrade to Subotica. It seemed impossible. This is a great victory for our people, with the wholehearted support of our Chinese friends. We live for such a Serbia, we believe in such a Serbia, this is the Serbian leap into the future, with what has always graced us, the modernization of Serbia, without renouncing tradition and history. You promised President Vučić that you would finish earlier, and we heard that the project would be completed a year earlier. We are getting closer to our Hungarian friends, who bravely defend Serbian interests and the international order. May the steel friendship of China and Serbia live forever. I congratulate the citizens of Bačka Topola and the entire district, this is a completely different dimension of the environment where you live – said Vučević.

Address by Ambassador Li Ming

– On behalf of the Chinese Embassy, I would like to express my congratulations. I want to thank you for your great concern and support in the construction of the high-speed railway. Bilateral relations continue to deepen, under the strategic leadership of the heads of state of Serbia and China. The Belgrade-Budapest railway attracted a lot of attention from all sides. The Belgrade – Novi Sad railway has become an internet sensation. It is expected that the section Novi Sad – Subotica will be opened by the end of the year, a year ahead of schedule – said Chinese ambassador Li Ming.

Minister Vesić’s address

– One day, when the history of Serbia is written, I am sure that the construction of the high-speed railway will be highlighted. We never had high-speed railways. Only President Aleksandar Vučić achieved this. The construction of a high-speed railway means that our country will be better connected by traffic, and this means that we will be the backbone of Corridor 10. We will have 1,500 kilometers of high-speed railway between Budapest and Athens. Perhaps Serbia is the only country where the Chinese, Germans and Dutch can work together – said Vesić and added that this railway will be completed a year ahead of schedule.
