In the previous days, market inspectors of the Ministry of Trade discovered the illegal production of counterfeit household chemicals, detergents and shampoos of the “Procter&Gamble” brand, as well as counterfeit “Plasma” biscuits.

Trade Minister Tomislav Momirović stated that this action prevented the use of counterfeit products and at the same time avoided potential danger to citizens’ health.

“In a well-planned and coordinated action with members of the MUP and the Basic Prosecutor’s Office from Novi Sad, inspection supervision and entry of inspectors into illegal production was carried out in several locations in Novi Sad and Belgrade. On that occasion, a large amount of counterfeit products was found and confiscated, including 2,021 confectionery products, 205 household chemical products, including dish detergents, laundry detergents and personal hygiene products, over 11,000 packaging for confectionery products and household chemicals, 26 barrels of 120 liters of raw materials for making liquid detergent for dishes and laundry, a huge number of declarations, stickers and barcodes prepared for sticking on the packaging and putting it on the market,” said Minister Momirović.

In the statement of the relevant ministry, it is stated that Momirović said that there is an ongoing inspection in Belgrade, which refers to the control of the printing house that made packaging for counterfeit confectionery products, during which members of the MUP seized a laptop, a computer and a mobile phone.

“All the goods were intended for further sale on the markets, and behind everything was a well-organized group from the area of Novi Sad,” added Momirović.
