On that occasion, the US Secretary of State commented on the support that Beijing provides to Moscow, saying that if China does not take measures to “solve that problem”, Washington will do so. He said during the press conference that “China cannot improve relations with Europe while supporting Russia”.

“Ensuring transatlantic security is an essential interest of the US. During our discussions today, I made it clear that if China does not solve the problem, we will,” Blinken stressed.

He also expressed concern about reports that China is allegedly supplying military equipment to Russia.

“During today’s discussions, I reiterated our serious concerns regarding deliveries of Chinese equipment that are fueling Russian aggression against Ukraine,” Blinken pointed out.

In this regard, he warned Beijing that Washington is ready to adopt measures if it does not notice a reduction in alleged deliveries to Moscow.

“We are fully prepared to adopt measures if there are no reactions from the Chinese side,” warned Blinken, recalling that the US had previously introduced sanctions against Chinese companies.

He also referred to the topic of nuclear weapons.

“A year ago, we were afraid that Russia would potentially use nuclear weapons,” noted the state secretary.

At the same time, according to his words, China’s voice was allegedly important in that situation, that is, its contribution so that “Russia would give up on that idea.
