A $61 billion aid package
The United States this week approved a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine and said the first shipments should arrive within days, easing an acute shortage of artillery shells that has hampered Kiev’s forces for months.
While the aid was finalized after six months of wrangling in Congress, Russia’s defense minister said on Tuesday that Moscow would step up attacks on logistics centers and warehouses that house Western weapons.
Ukrainian railway infrastructure was targeted by Russian attacks on Thursday in eastern Donetsk region, northeastern Kharkiv region and central Cherkasy region, the national railway company said.
