The Chevrolet Camaro was introduced in 1966 as an answer to the popular Ford Mustang. The first generation Camaro, which was produced in the USA from 1966 to 1969, had everything that such a car from the 1960s was known for, including lavish fuel consumption.

Many joked that owning a Camaro meant renting a gas station, but fuel consumption was no joke.

The base Camaro had a 140 hp 3.8-liter straight-six engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission. By installing a V8 engine (SS version) with 6.5 liters and 350 hp, we arrive at a fascinating figure.
