Upheavals, excitement, full stands and great volleyball – we have seen everything so far in the final matches between Crvena Zvezda and Partizan. And we’re still waiting for the fifth game!
What a final we are watching in volleyball! Partizan after the drama in Zemun “Master” managed to win the fifth match of the final series against Red stars. They defeated the black and white’s biggest rival 3:2 (25:23, 27:25, 22:25, 22:25, 15:13). There will be a master’s game in which we will find out who will become the state champion for the 13th time, Red Star or Partizan.
The match lasted two hours and 40 minutes, and after Zvezda led 2:0 in the series and was on the verge of victory in the third match, the red and white team almost managed to get back into the match. Still with great ones Milija Mrdak and Lazar Marinović the host won the fifth set in which they led, but then Zvezda made a series of four points. However, after Bojan Janić’s timeout, the black and whites concentrated and won.
After a big lead in the first set for the hosts, Crvena zvezda came back, but not enough to turn it around. In the second set, the red and whites led after a great game by Dušan Nikolić, they led 17.10, but a turnaround came and Partizan was within reach of victory. However, after two sets which the guests won 25:22, it was the fifth set which decided that the season would be decided in Banjica, where the fifth game will be played and everything will be over. We will wait a little longer until the spectacular end of the volleyball season in Serbia!
