Panathinaikos issued a statement and hit hard at Maccabi and the Euroleague

The basketball players of Panathinaikos were defeated on their floor in the first match of the Euroleague quarterfinal series by the Maccabi team with a score of 91:87, and after the dissatisfaction of coach Ergin Ataman, the club has now gone public with an official statement.

Maccabi made a big turnaround and managed to topple the favored Panathinaikos.

So we immediately got a surprise at the start of the playoffs, and Ataman was very annoyed after the game.

Shamefully, this is not fair to basketball. Twice, Wade Baldwin made three free throws on a three-point shot. I do not understand. They gave him six points in such a situation.

Anyway, we didn’t play well, we missed a lot of shots, lost the ball in a crucial last possession, we’re down 1-0, but we’re going to win this series.

Ataman added that if he does not go to F4, he will leave Panathinaikos.

Unfortunately, once again, having reached the most critical point in the season in the Euroleague and making a great effort to return Panathinaikos to the highest steps, we witnessed a “crude operation” taken from the memory of the “massacres” we suffered.

We don’t want to believe that the tragic things happening around the world that make us all sad (in Russia, Ukraine, Palestine and Israel) can affect professional basketball.

Unfortunately, however, yesterday’s glaring mistakes do not allow us to find another reason.

The sports field should never be used to heal the wounds and situations that people go through and basketball should always stay away from all of this.

Panathinaikos proved, not only this year but also historically, how much they love basketball and work with one thought – to improve the sport.

Panathinaikos has 116 years of history, perhaps longer than some countries. Finally, show due respect and stop underestimating the product.
