Igor Duljaj, head of Partizan’s coaching staff, spoke at the press conference after the semi-final of the Cup with Crvena Zvezda and the 2:0 defeat in the derby, which was solved by Filipović (own goal) and Olajinka in two minutes in the first half.

Partizan’s coach Igor Duljaj summed up his impressions after the second defeat against Crvena Zvezda in four days, and this time in the semi-finals of the Serbian Cup, the eternal rival was really a better rival.

Yes, this is Partizan’s weakest derby this spring. We got into the game better, after the first conceded goal, Zvezda had everything in their hands, they had a lot of space. We took risks in the second half, Zvezda had a lot of counters and semi-counters… It is extremely difficult to play against Zvezda in four days, with all the events surrounding the derby.

My status at the club has been in question since day one. I am not burdened by that, it is up to the people in the club to determine my status, it is much more important what I leave to the next coach, if we look at who all played today for Partizan. Kovačević is 19 years old, captain Marković, Goh, Baždar… They have the present and the future.

Evaluation of Partizan’s season and whether everything would have been different if Belić and Ilić had remained.

Partizan lives on sales, like it or not, that move had to be made, Ilic and Belic left in the winter transfer window, but that must not be an alibi for this part of the season. We spent the preparations where we spent them, Partizan did not deserve to train on those fields during the winter preparations… A lot happened in the match that happened before this one.

I’m not going to comment on the refereeing, but… You’re the one who has to talk when mistakes happen, you have to give the right picture when something happens in matches. You always expect us to say something, to “thunder”, but no… We are living beings, we make mistakes, but your job is to write as it is. That various experts come forward, but it is your responsibility to write as it is.

What did you say to the players in that minute or two before the start of the game?

Usual, but let’s do our best. We did not want to create any circus, Partizan has its own tradition and we are not the ones who should tarnish the institution of the derby, neither did others before us.

He spoke highly of Bazdar, but also that he rested Stojković for TSC.

Bazdar was told to be ready to use his five minutes and he did. He drew attention to himself, foreign scouts have already seen him well, so they have a bright future ahead of them.

We have an important game against TSC on Sunday and we tried to rest Stojkovic, so I can reveal that he will be in the competition for the first 11 for this match, especially since he comes from the team we are playing against.

What would contribute to improving everything around the trial?

It’s not my job in general, but you are the one who will force others to write as it is, we live in a world full of lies. Where a lie becomes the truth and the truth a lie. My words or those of Milojević’s colleagues will always be interpreted in a biased way, that it is a bit fanciful… You are the one who should write about it.

If I were to ask myself, of course I would like to stay with this team that has potential. A couple of months ago we talked about my contract, but I said that it was not the time and that there would be an opportunity. It doesn’t matter to me if I have a contract or not, if I wanted to sign it I would have already signed it two months ago. If we see that he has potential, of course I would like him to stay.
