Basketball players from Podgorica beat Vojvodina on their home court with 98:80 in the first match of the semi-finals of the ABA 2 league.
At the end of the regular part of the season, Vojvodina was in second place, while Podgorica was in sixth position, but now it has taken a big step towards the final.
In the first half, none of the teams managed to break away, but the home team led with 47:46. The third period was crucial, when Podgorica gained a double-digit lead, and Vojvodina did not seriously threaten in the last quarter.
Dylan Kunz was the most effective player in the winning team with 26 points and six rebounds. Vyacheslav Petrov helped him with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Filip Andušić added 16. Also, Brendo Slaj had a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists.
In the team from Novi Sad, the best were Uroš Banjac and Vasilije Vučetić with 13 points each, while Zoran Nikolić had 11.
The next match will be played on May 2 on the field of Vojvodina, and whoever has the better goal difference will advance to the final.
On the other side of the draw, Spartak and MZT Skopje meet.
The champion of the ABA 2 league should move to a higher rank next season, while the second finalist will most likely remain empty-handed.
