At the press conference after the derby between Crvena Zvezda and Partizan (2:0) in the Serbian Cup, the black and white coach Igor Duljaj “called out” referee experts who commented on the details of the first match between Zvezda and Partizan played in the Super League.
The coach of Partizan was not satisfied with their comments and invited the media to write what they see.
– You are the journalists whose pen is sharp, as are the people who watch on television. You need to give a true picture of what happens at the matches, because you are followed, read and you always expect us to say something, to pretend that we are dissatisfied, to thunder. We are only living beings, people who make mistakes, but you are the one who should take responsibility and that it should be shown on television as it is, and not that various experts say what they want as a judge. I hope that I have not offended anyone, but you have a great responsibility to write what you see and the way it is – said Duljaj.
The answer of referee analyst and long-time arbitrator, Zdravko Jokić, arrived very quickly, who pointed out that he thought the comment that he was an expert was “pretentious” on TV Arena Sport.
– Well, I don’t know, he mentions experts, I don’t consider myself an expert. I am an instructor of the first category, I have been a football player for the last ten years, I refereed the Yugoslav league for 11 years, I was in the elite category, the highest, for 20 years. I refereed 85 Champions League matches, I follow the rules, twice a year seminars, but again I don’t think I’m an expert and I think it’s pretentious. I value Duljaj as a man, who is loyal to the club, who shows great attention to the club, but that love blinds him. Someone makes statements and apologizes the next day.
