Carlos Alcaraz will play at the Masters in Madrid, he will be the second seed even though he is third on the planet, due to Novak Djokovic canceling his performance in Spain.
In the first round, he will meet with Aleksander Shevchenko, and Novak’s withdrawal surprised him.
He met Djokovic at the “Laureus” award, the award for the best athlete in the world, and at the conference before the start of Madrid, he talked about the Serbian tennis player.
“Miami didn’t surprise me at all, but the absence from Madrid did.” My friends told me about it and I said, ‘what happened to him?'” says Alcaraz.
He talked about the possibility of competing in doubles at the Olympics with Rafael Nadal, but revealed that the two have not yet finalized those details.
He hopes to end the year as the best tennis player on the planet and the number one tennis player in the world.
“I hope it will be me, but for now everything looks like it will be Yannick,” concluded Alcaraz.
