Van Dijk angry at teammates: “Do they really want the title?” – Five leagues – Football – B92.sport

On Wednesday, “Reds” were defeated in the city derby by 2:0 and once again faltered in the championship race with Arsenal and City.

Four rounds are left to the end and there is less and less hope for Klopp’s team to win the trophy. Ten days ago, the team from “Anfield” failed in front of their fans, losing to Crystal Palace (0:1).

Arsenal is the leading team in the league with 77 points, Liverpool has three points less and City four with a match in hand.

“Do they really want to win the title?”asked a disappointed Van Dijk after the game at Goodison, alluding to the lackluster performance of his teammates.

To make matters worse Liverpoolwere defeated by Everton for the first time on the side since 2010.

Van Dijk was very critical of his team’s performance.

“If you play like this the whole game and don’t win duels and give the referee a reason to see fouls for the opponent in the strike zone, then you have no chance to win the title”says the Dutchman.

“I’m disappointed about a lot. Everyone should look in the mirror and be aware of how they played today and ask themselves if they did their best. This is a difficult defeat and obviously we have to play better against teams that fighting for survival. It’s time to focus. If we play like we did against Everton, we have no chance to be in the race for the trophy.”
