Coach of Partizan Igor Dulyaj gave his opinion at the press conference after the match with Crvena Zvezda (0:2) in the semi-final of the Serbian Cup about referee experts who commented on the refereeing from the previous eternal derby, and the other side’s answer was not long in coming.
Shortly after the aforementioned conference, he reacted to the words of the black and white coach Zdravko Jokic, a former arbitrator, and currently a referee analyst. Visiting the Arena Sport studio, on Duljaev words like ‘various experts are talking, and he doesn’t even know if they have a license’, he recalled where and for how long he gained experience.
– Duljaj mentions experts, I don’t see myself as an expert, that’s pretentious. I have the title of instructor of the first category. I was a professional football player for 10 years, refereed for 11 years in the League of Yugoslavia, I was in the ‘elite’ category of UEFA observers for 20 years and a mentor to referees in the ‘elite’ category, I evaluated referees for 20 years, I evaluated refereeing in 65 Champions League matches, including and semi-finals of the Champions League, I follow the rules, I attend seminars twice a year… I don’t think I’m an expert, that’s pretentious – he said Zdravko Jokic and reported by Mondo.
The former arbitrator continued:
– As for Duljaj, I appreciate him very much as a person, he is loyal to the club, he shows great love, but I think that love blinds him a little, that he discusses things about which he is not educated, and he is known for making a statement first, so he apologizes tomorrow. Maybe he’ll apologize tomorrow. These days there were some more in the newspapers, I don’t know if he meant me. Everyone does their job as much as they know it, they have the right to criticize.
Commenting on the derby, he said that he is the main referee Miloš Milanović passed and judged well.
– The whole team worked well, they refereed very well, they controlled the game, they moved well, punished adequately, did not put themselves in the foreground and showed that they know the game. I think he refereed very well. He was discreet, he didn’t get into a confrontation with the players, and in my opinion he judged very well.
