Panathinaikos basketball players beat Maccabi 95:79 (20:28, 31:11, 20:21, 24:19) and tied the game at 1:1 before coming to Belgrade for the third and fourth games in the Belgrade Arena. After the match, which ended with a conflict on the field, chaos broke out in the tunnel of the OAKA hall, where the center of the “greens” Matjias Lesor was in the center of attention.

The former basketball player of Crvena zvezda and Partizan was in a verbal argument with someone from Maccabi, and the witnesses who held the Frenchman made sure that it did not turn into something more than that. They prevented the strong center from approaching someone from the visiting delegation, while clearly harsh words were exchanged.

Then other Panathinaikos basketball players joined the conflict, among them Kostas Slukas, who threw something in English at the representatives of Maccabi. At that moment, passions were more or less calm, so the basketball players parted ways without a physical conflict. However, the already high tension was further increased before the next matches, and the first one will be played on Tuesday at 19:00 in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” hall, while the fourth match will be on the program on Thursday, May 2.

Pinned against the wall, Panathinaikos reacted this Thursday and in the end made the fighting victory against the “Pride of Israel” convincing. Kostas Slukas scored 29 points, last season’s Partizan wing Yanis Papapetrou added 15, with four three-pointers, and Konstantinos Mitoglu 14. Matias Lessor was the usual grateful player for coach Ergin Ataman, with 11 points and eight rebounds, with three assists. Former Zvezda point guard Lorenzo Brown was the most effective in the Maccabi team, with 18 points and six assists.
