Liverpool found Klopp’s deputy, the coach openly admitted the truth about the negotiations: “I’m just waiting now”

Feyenoord coach Arne Slott confirmed on Thursday that the Dutch club is negotiating with Liverpool regarding his transfer to England.

In an interview with ESPN ahead of Feyenoord’s game with Go Ahead Eagles in the Dutch league, Slott said he was “still waiting” but had “full confidence” that the clubs would reach an agreement.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he is retiring at the end of the season after nine years at the club.

“I want to become the manager of Liverpool, my decision is clear. Feyenoord and Liverpool are negotiating, and I’m waiting for the outcome. I am confident that everything will go well, I am waiting for the clubs to reach a final agreement,” Slott said, as reported by ESPN.

Slott has been Feyenoord’s coach since 2021, and won the Dutch league last season, and won the Dutch Cup this season with the Rotterdam side.

He did not manage to win the title in the Netherlands again, as PSV from Eindhoven won it, while Klopp probably won’t be able to do it in England either.

In the last match, Liverpool failed against Everton, so Manchester City is in complete control of the championship race for now, and if they win the remaining five games to the end, they will take the new title.
