The under-13 Red Star basketball players lost to their peers from Barcelona with a score of 132:28 at the tournament in Italy. The results of our younger categories in all selections have not been at the level we are used to for years, and the only bright spot in the recent past is Serbia’s sensational gold medal at the European Championship for under-18 players won last year.
Many experts have been saying for years that Serbia is gradually running out of basketball talent. This result of the Red Star boys at the tournament in Ferrari and the defeat by 104 points is an indicator of that.
Children being children, of course, are not guilty of anything and they should certainly forget this defeat as soon as possible because they still have big battles on the field and, for sure, big victories. Ivošević and Stajić scored nine points each for the red and whites in this match.
