Matej Bolthauser, a referee from the ABA and the Euroleague, is at the center of a big scandal, and the Euroleague has reportedly initiated disciplinary proceedings.

The Slovenian referee was “caught” during the theft of an expensive perfume at Belgrade’s “Nikola Tesla” airport, and according to “Eurohoops” sources, the Euroleague has initiated disciplinary proceedings and information is currently being collected about this scandal.

You can see the video of Bolthauser at the airport in the “free shop” below the text.

According to information from several sources, the theft took place in December last year, but the news has only now become known to the general public.

The news about Bolthauser’s theft spread quickly through the basketball world, and one of those who reacted the most was Matt Jennings.

“LMAO! The man has been stealing for years! The EuroLeague has a bunch of great referees, but this guy was the worst and it’s not hard to look and see why,” wrote the former Montepaschi, Cibona, Efes, Baskonia basketball player…

Jennings’ post was followed up by Chima Moneke with a smiling emoji.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of this situation will be, and what the reaction from the Euroleague will be, if the accusations turn out to be true.
