Arne Slott has been chosen as Liverpool’s new coach to replace Jurgen Klopp.
The new coach of Liverpool will be a Dutch expert Arne Slott (45), journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed this evening. It has long been known that Jurgen Klopp is leaving “Anfield” at the end of the season, it seemed that Ruben Amorim from Sporting will succeed him, but it seems that in the end the choice fell on Sloto, current head of Feyenoord.
Slott won the Dutch title with Feyenoord last season, while he played in the Conference League final in the 2021/22 season, and what also recommends him for the Liverpool job is his charisma and connection with players and fans, as was the case with Klopp in the previous nine years. An agreement was reached between the two clubs regarding the buyout clause, so there are no longer any obstacles for Slott to become the new coach of the famous Liverpool.
It is interesting that Slott was an average footballer, he played for lesser-known clubs in the Netherlands, and then presented himself as a coach in Cambur in 2016/17. This was followed by an invitation to AZ Alkmaar, where he also left a good impression, and he is also remembered by Partizan fans. In the fall of 2020, he drew twice with Partizan in the group stage of the Europa League, and the painful 2:2 draw in the Netherlands – after two goals in the end – was the end of the European hopes of the black and whites that season under Savo Milošević.
To make matters worse, Partizan fans also remembered him for the more convincing game of the opposing team, and that was when he sat on the Feyenoord bench. In March 2022, in the Round of 16 of the Conference League, Partizan won with a total score of 8:3. That same season, he also played in the final of this competition against Roma, but lost.
