The FMP team defeated the home team at Spence with a high score of 93:65 (48:37). The red and white team’s performance was particularly bad in the last quarter, when they lost by as much as 17 points.
The guests already had a double-digit advantage in the first half, but the home team managed to maintain a draw in the third period, and the fans were hoping for a turnaround.
But in the fourth ten minutes they experienced disappointment. Nothing was out of hand for the young men in red-belly colors and the experienced guests were increasing their advantage minute by minute.
In the ranks of the Novi Sad players, everything was creaking, they were, contrary to custom, weaker in the jump, the defense was almost non-functioning, and the three-point shot served the least: out of 23 attempts, only three were successful, compared to eleven hits by FMP from 25 attempts .
Centers Nikolić and Vučetić were somewhat better than others, while Stojanović with 14 and Rebec with 15 points left a good impression on the FMP team.
With the victory in Novi Sad, the team from Železnik qualified for the second round of the Supeliga, in which they expect the better of the Borac-Spartak clash.
Vojvodina has to do a feat in the return match of the ABA 2 league against Podgorica, on May 2 in Novi Sad, and win by at least 19 points and thus enter the finals of the competition for entry into the ABA league.
Otherwise, it will be the last game of the red and white team this season, and next year they will again compete side by side in the Basketball League of Serbia and the ABA 2 League, all with the intention of placing themselves in the company of the best in the region.
