Brazilian MMA fighter Luis Paulo Lima dos Santos was arrested on Wednesday for the murder of his wife Elida, whose body was found two days earlier in Sao Paulo.

Fighter Luis Paulo Lima dos Santos could spend the rest of his life behind bars for the brutal murder of his wife Elida.

The murder took place last Friday, and the body of the unfortunate woman was found on Monday. Luis was immediately the first suspect and it turned out that he really killed Elida.

The 44-year-old did not expect that there would be cameras in the building where he lives. They filmed him carrying out the body of his wife, whom he had killed a few minutes earlier.

The Brazilian fighter carried the body out in a shopping cart and then took it to a remote part of Sao Paulo where he dumped it in a local stream.

At the hearing, he claimed that the murder was committed in self-defense and that he feared for his own life from his wife, who also allegedly possessed a weapon.

Lewis fired two shots at the hapless woman, and what’s worse is that it all happened in front of their six-month-old son. The reason was allegedly jealousy, which led to an argument.

Elida was a teacher. She was 26 years old, and after her disappearance Lewis claimed she had abandoned the family, her brother Valdir Lima said.

– He told us that she got on the bus and went to the village. We immediately suspected that something was wrong because she wouldn’t leave the baby just like that – Valdir said and pointed out that Louis played a worried husband.

– He played everything perfectly. He came to my stepmother’s house pretending to be worried about her disappearance.

– When they found the body, I called him, and he asked me how I was and was cold-blooded to everything I told him. I immediately connected everything and when he didn’t show up for body identification, I put all the pieces together myself. I told the family that he did it – Valdir said.

The child that the couple left behind is now with Lewis’ family. However, the brother and the rest of the murdered woman’s family will do anything to get custody.
