On Thursday, Partizan basketball players visit Real Madrid in the tenth round of the Euroleague. The black and whites lost yesterday in Barcelona, and they will complete the extremely difficult double round with a duel with another Spanish and European giant.
The black and whites trained on Wednesday evening at the “Vizink Center” in Madrid, and after the training, coach Željko Obradović expressed his expectations for tomorrow’s game:
“Real is a team made to have the highest possible ambitions. The roster they have, the change of the coach who was an assistant to Pablo Lasso, they have had players who have been playing together for years, they have automaticity and they have young players that they have brought in, who show great desire and who have understood what means playing for Real Madrid. We are playing against a candidate who certainly has the greatest possible ambitions to go to the final four, they are covered in all places. They are a specific team because they have a player who has dominated during the last few years in European basketball, which is Tavares and in relation the game should be prepared for that. We tried to react with this one training session, we will train in the morning and we will see,” said Obradović.
Danilo Andušić was Partizan’s most effective player against Barcelona. Before tomorrow’s match, he said:
“The match after two days. We are used to a difficult rhythm, we don’t have much time to prepare, but it is up to us to do everything in our power to prepare as well as possible. We are expecting a very difficult match against a team that has been playing very good basketball in the last time and it certainly won’t be easy. After yesterday’s game we have to pick ourselves up, play much better, with energy and defensively. The Real team forces a fast game and they play a lot in transition, they are the best jumping team with Tavares dominating the racket. We have to stop their offensive jump, which was a problem for us in the last game, and let’s fix all the mentioned things and be better if we want to win this game,” said Andušić.
Partizan has a 4-5 record in the Euroleague, while Real is 6-3.
